Welcome to my website. I am the author of Personal Stereo, a cultural history of the Walkman. My writing has appeared in The New York Times, Slate, The Nation, The Believer, The Cut, the Times Literary Supplement, and The Guardian, among other publications.
In my reporting and essays, I often explore the relationships between people, the natural world, and technology. I also love to write about books (including emerging subgenres). And I enjoy pondering the joys, possibilities, dilemmas, and annoyances of 21st-century life.
I live in Southern California with my family. Oh, and it’s pronounced TOO-hoose DOO-brow.
